Postby Alex » Sun Jul 15, 2012 4:46 am

New version 1.9 of a standalone tool OW Data Miner is available at

http://www.newhavensoft.net/OWMiner19.zip

OW Data Miner v1.9 implements simple interface between the web site http://www.scoresway.com and Odds Wizard. It can be used to create and maintain over 500 national and international soccer, hockey, basketball, American football, baseball, handball, rugby, cricket, and volleyball leagues that are currently missing in the list of Odds Wizard's regular updates.

Installation:

1. Download and save OWMiner19.zip (258,810 bytes) to disk.
2. Unpack the contents (1 file) to any folder.
3. Run OWMiner.exe.

New features as compared to the version 1.8:

1. Support of up to 511 teams and up to 65535 games per league update (useful for NCAA data).
2. Support of wildcards (*) in Rename.txt files for automatic renames.

The problem was actually in the Scoresway end. They have two identical Russian leagues 1. Division. Now OW Data Miner adds an underscore as a suffix to the second league and thus solves the problem. Please download fixed release (1.9.0.206) of the program from the same URL. 8)

Hi, may I know what's the use of OW data miner? I suppose it supplement
the missing teams/odds data that odds wizard is missing. Is it true?

Say I successfully get the data of japan division 2 to data miner.
I do only see the schedule, but nowhere from OW data miner or OW
can I see the fair odds, am I missing something?

OW Data Miner's name explains its purpose. You save the data collected by OW Data Miner in the league file (*.LEA), and then use it from within Odds Wizard to add that data to existing games using menu Games -> Update from file. Thus you can compile new league, e.g. Japan 2. Note that there must be at least 3 years data so that the odds were accurate. To improve odds accuracy, it is advisable to include the games (not the teams, just games with existing teams) from adjacent leagues.

Thanks for the note. Something wrong seems to happen on the http://www.scoresway.com. In particular, clicking on the Previous on the Matches tab does nothing. We are monitoring situation about OW Data Miner. Maybe some format changes are going to occur. In such a case program update will be released shortly, in a couple of days.

In Norway leagues, there are two "1. Division" in Scoresway.com, but only the second one is being shown in OW Data Miner. Alex, what can I do if I want to extract the 1st "1. Division"? Or, perhaps you can modify the OW Data Miner a bit so that both "1. Division" can be shown?

I suppose you meant OW Data Miner. Sorry, competitions cannot be added there arbitrarily. OW Data Miner relies on ScoresWay.com data pool.

Custom leagues compiled either manually or with assistance of OW Data Miner will not show bwin odds at all. To display computed fair odds, the common procedure is: 1) compile the league along with fixtures 2) Fixtures > Show new fixtures 3) Odds > recalculate odds.
(3) may not be necessary if the Options > Auto calculations is turned on.
